How to Price Your First Coaching Package

Pricing your first coaching package can feel overwhelming. You want to offer value, honour your training, and still feel good about receiving money. But where do you start?
1. Start With Your Time and Energy Look at how much time and energy you realistically have. Are you still working part-time? Managing family responsibilities? Your pricing needs to reflect your capacity, not just your desire to serve.
2. Think in Packages, Not Hours Hourly rates keep you in a time-for-money mindset. A well-designed coaching package includes:
A clear outcome
A set number of sessions
Email or Voxer support
Resources or exercises This structure gives clients confidence, and gives you scope to charge more.
3. Use the "Energy Exchange" Test Ask yourself: What amount would feel like a beautiful exchange for this offer? Not too low that you feel resentful. Not so high that you feel wobbly. Pricing is personal, but it must feel aligned.
4. Factor in the Client Outcome You’re not just charging for your time, you’re charging for the transformation. Think about what your client walks away with: clarity, confidence, a plan, new habits. Price for the value, not the minutes.
5. Test and Evolve Start with a number you feel solid about. Deliver the package. Reflect. Refine. Pricing is not fixed, it evolves with your confidence, results, and demand.
The right price is the one that honours both you and your client. It's a Win Win for all.
And remember: you can always raise it later.
